I’ve been an active member of DP (a blogging / affiliate marketing / marketing / etc) forum for awhile, and I’ve noticed that people love buying ebooks, especially blackhat “step by step guides to make money” ebooks, so a couple days ago I decided to write one and see how it would sell. It was called “Blackhat Social Marketing: Twitter, Stumbleupon, Digg, Myspace, and Facebook” and it took me just over thirty minutes to write because it was stuff I already knew how to do, so I didn’t have to do any research. The beauty of selling this book is that it’s information I’ve already touched on in this blog and stuff that I’ll be expanding on in the future, so if I’m going to be writing it anyway, why not make some extra money in return for the five extra minutes it takes to save it as a PDF and upload it?

I started a new thread on the forum with a brief description and told people they could easily bring in tens of thousands of additional visitors if they implemented all the methods in the book (which is actually true). Within ten minutes I had given out three review copies (you ALWAYS want to give away review copies of products to get some good testimonials) and within thirty minutes of those reviews being posted, I had sold five copies of the book for a total of $75. I asked each person who purchased it to review it and let me know if they liked it, and they all posted good reviews in the thread which led to a lot more sales. So far I’ve pulled in a couple hundred bucks, which is great considering I didn’t really do any extra work.

I think the most important thing when starting a new blog is to be original. I’ve seen so many “make money online” blogs that all contain the exact same information and half of them even have the same sponsor buttons. It’s such a waste of time and they wonder why they have no traffic. Stak Loaded is a make money blog but it’s definitely a lot different from the rest, and that’s why people read it. This is a very important concept that some bloggers don’t understand - you have to be original and give people a reason to read your site. This can be done a few ways:

• Narrow down your topic: If you’ve done any affiliate marketing, you’re probably familiar with narrowing down a niche. Let’s forget about keyword research and just do it - if you have a technology blog, instead of trying to rip off Engadget, you could focus on a specific field of technology, such as aircraft technology, videogame engine technology, or fringe developments (time travel, etc). Personally, I think that last one would be pretty cool, it caters to a specific niche and it’s not just a repeat of a million other blogs out there.
• Have a fresh take on an existing topic: Instead of a traditional SEO blog, you could do only reviews of SEO tools. If you’re writing a fitness blog, you could write it from the viewpoint of an arrogant motherfucker who posts videos of people with incorrect form and berates them. You could mash unrelated topics together - conspiracy theories and hot babes, math problems and hot babes, fitness advice and restaurant reviews. Get the idea?
• Appeal to a different audience: This is related to the last point, and it will help you expand your audience while still targeting your current audience. Let’s take the “conspiracy theories and hot babes” idea. Instead of just appealing to people who like conspiracy theories, you’re now appealing to every straight male in the world, AS WELL AS people who like conspiracies. You could use the “about” page to make it look like the blog is written by a hot girl, or you could have a laid back writing style like it’s written by a college kid and not a crazy conspiracy nut, or you could mix up personal stories about your life (make them up if you don’t have an interesting life, it doesn’t matter) and stuff about girls. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: sex sells. It really does. I always recommend appealing to horny guys because let’s face it, it works.

I just submitted this blog to be reviewed by Blogs We Luv, and they asked me to answer some questions before they did the review so they could get a feel for the theme of the site. Here are my answers:

• Describe your blog in five sentences or less. Stak Loaded is about “how to make money doing nothing,” blackhat blogging tactics and affiliate marketing strategies that don’t take a lot of time to implement yet yield amazing results. It also includes marketing tips, business advice, and the occasional free plugin or voucher.
• Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are. All the posts in the “popular posts” section in the sidebar are good reads. I’d recommend Don’t Ban Me!, a blackhat method about generating leads via Craigslist that takes about ten minutes to set up, “Stuffing”, a very blackhat affiliate marketing trick that pays you commission even when you don’t make sales, and How To Deal Blow From Home, a story about a drug dealer who made thousands of dollars a week without actually dealing the drugs.
• What sets you apart from other bloggers? Almost every post is either directly applicable advice or a step by step technique. It allows my readers to easily apply any of these methods to their own business without having to shuffle through a bunch of posts about my personal life.
• When and how did you first discover blogging? Just a few months ago. I spent a LOT of time researching and launched a few blogs very early that were very profitable but either against various TOS’s or right on the legal borderline, so they all got shut down. Now that I know a lot more about blogging and blog marketing, I’m at it again! Don’t be fooled though, most of the advice on this site is based on past businesses and various other sites and marketing campaigns I’ve worked on, so I do know a little about what I’m talking about
• What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the internet? People who say they want to make money but don’t actually do anything to make it, and people who say they want to get to where I’m at but they don’t listen to advice. What a waste of time.
• Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without. My Blog Log, I get so much traffic from them it’s ridiculous.
• If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why? Ricky Ross, the dude who made a million dollars a day selling blow.
• How has blogging made you a better person?This may sound funny but one day when I looked at my Feedburner account for this blog and saw the number of subscribers, I actually started picturing these people reading my blog and depending on me for advice, and it really made me see my readers as real people rather than just “those fuckers that click my ads and make me money.”
• What are your tips for becoming a better blogger? Be different. I see a million “make money online” blogs with the exact same information. Even black hat blogs reprint a lot of the same shit. This is a make money online blog but it’s obviously a lot different from the rest and every single thing here is 100% original content, written by yours truly.
• Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique? Alright don’t laugh, but Cute Overload. I think it’s amazing how they started with such a simple concept and grew to millions of readers. It’s also nice after a stressful day to just sit there and look at pictures of animals haha.

Shoemoney, the man behind the $132,000 Adsense check and the $700,000 CJ screenshot (hit the “continue reading” link to see it), recently had a “Q&A” session where you could ask him whatever you wanted and he’d give you an answer. I of course used this opportunity for some shameless self promotion and asked him:

and he answered “sure look like a decent start.” Sweet, so the Shoe likes this site. But let’s look at the bigger picture: my question is right there at the top of the page, so everyone who reads that post will read my question, see my URL, and a decent percentage of them will click it to see what it is. In fact, Shoemoney was my #1 traffic source that day. I also decided to answer a couple questions people had left in his comments that he hadn’t had time to answer, along with a link to this site if they wanted to find out more . So jump on opportunities and be creative with your marketing. Shoe sent me a nice amount of traffic in return for the ten seconds it took me to type that question and submit it.

Hopefully my affiliate networks don’t see this and ban me for it (just kidding Clickbank, I haven’t done this with you, I’ve only done it with random sites that offer affiliate programs, LOL). There is a really easy way to trick people into signing up for PPL (pay per lead) offers and it involves very little work. If you’re unfamiliar with PPL, it means you get paid by referring people to sign up for free things, such as registering for a forum, a mailing list, or entering their zip code for shit like ringtones and scholarships. It’s very similar to CPA except it’s always free simple bullshit, which makes it very easy to game. The basic idea is you refer someone to a site, they sign up for free, and you get paid. So how would we exploit this system?

PPL offers can be as low converting as selling products if done from a purely whitehat standpoint, as people still need to be interested enough to click the link, read the sales page, and want to sign up. This is why you need to be a little evil with your marketing. I’ve actually seen some jerkoffs selling this as “The Craigslist Method,” but it’s really just common sense when you think about it, so I’ll give it to you for free. Let’s say you’re promoting a web design forum that pays you $1 for every user you refer. You go to Craigslist and post from an unregistered account (it’s very important that you don’t register an account because if they catch one of your ads from a registered account, they’ll delete all of them) a job listing that you are looking for either (a) forum posters, or (b) forum moderators (you can post ads for each, or combine them into a single ad, it doesn’t matter). If people are interested, tell them to email you their information and you’ll be in touch. A sample ad would look something like this:

I am starting a web design forum and am in need of a few moderators. Web design knowledge is preferred but not required. You will be paid $15 a day. If you are interested, please email me at ilike@sex.com
